Overview

This hardware cloth is manufactured from high-quality galvanized low carbon steel wire that is hot-dip galvanized after welding, providing a double zinc coating for superior rust resistance and durability. The 1/4 inch square mesh offers a tight, flexible barrier that effectively excludes small rodents, snakes, and insects while allowing air and water to pass through freely.

Its robust construction and corrosion-resistant finish make it suitable for outdoor use in various environments, including gardens, farms, and construction sites. The roll can be easily cut and shaped using tin snips, allowing customization for specific projects such as chicken runs, rabbit fencing, tree guards, and soil sifters.

Key Benefits

• Durability: Hot-dip galvanized coating ensures long-lasting protection against rust and weathering.
• Versatility: Suitable for poultry fencing, garden protection, window screens, and more.
• Ease of Installation: Flexible mesh can be molded or folded without damage and cut easily to desired sizes.
• Effective Pest Control: The 1/4 inch openings prevent entry of various small animals and crawling pests.
• Weight and Size: Substantial weight of 39.7 lbs per roll offers stability once installed; dimensions fit most standard fencing and screening needs.

Applications

This hardware cloth is ideal for use as a protective barrier for your poultry and small animals, effectively preventing predators such as raccoons and snakes from entering enclosures. It also serves as a reliable garden mesh to safeguard fruits, vegetables, and flowers from rodents and pests. By installing it with a shallow trench of 2 to 3 feet depth, it can protect the garden or yard from burrowing animals.

Additional uses include:

• Screening under eaves or in gutters to prevent debris and pest intrusion
• Reinforcing window and door screens for added security
• Construction of soil sifters and drainage covers
• Creating tree guards to prevent damage from animals

Installation Tips

Before installation, carefully measure and plan your project area. Use appropriate cutting tools such as tin snips for clean edges. For ground installations, dig a trench 2 to 3 feet deep to bury the mesh, enhancing protection against digging pests. The flexible nature of the mesh allows it to be shaped and molded according to your specific needs without compromising its structural integrity.

Important Considerations

• The product is heavy; handle with care during installation to avoid injury.
• Read product dimensions and specifications carefully to ensure it fits your requirements.
• Proper installation increases the longevity and effectiveness of the hardware cloth.
